Making bail in Mexico…

If you read my last post you will know that I am heading to the Caribbean in just over a week.  I made the mistake of watching an old episode of Locked Up Abroad, and knowing my smart mouth, am now looking into how to post bond in Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Mexico.  If anyone has experience in doing this please let me know, any tips might help my wife get me back.

This next week has packed up quickly with appearances.  Tonight I am auditioning my stand-up for the Olio here in Tulsa.  I already perform there singing and playing guitar, now I am trying my stand-up out on them.  I have also picked up a new regular Friday show I don’t remember if I have mentioned before or not.  Brews & Bytes, a coffee shop in Sapulpa OK does a comedy night.  This week I’ll be one of the opening acts.  NEXT WEEK I WILL BE THE FEATURED COMIC!!!  Both of those shows are family friendly, so squeaky clean material in case anyone wants to bring the little ones.

Next week kicks off with my regular visit to the Gypsy coffee house, Tulsa OK’s oldest continiously running open mic night.  A tough crowd for comedy, since it is largely singer/songwriters and poets.  But a great crowd to work material out on, because you know if you can get a laugh out of them, it will kill with a regular audience.

I am up again at the Loony Bin Tulsa next Wed for their open mic night.  It has been getting tougher and tougher to get up there with so many open mic’ers signing up every week.  I think there were 18 for 8 spots this week.  Fortunately I was one of the lucky ones, and I’ll take luck anyday.  Then, as I said before, I’ll be back at Brews & Bytes as the featured comic next Friday the 3rd of Feb.

If anyone has cruised with Carnival in the last couple of years you will know that all their ships have a comedy club on board.  I just learned this, and since our ship is Carnival’s newest (The Magic,) I am certain it has one as well.  And apparently the comedy clubs are all associated with George Lopez.  I’m hoping they have an open mic at least one night of the cruise.  Although my wife will probably kill me if they have more than one, because I will be wanting to work out material every chance I get.  If anyone has any insight on the Punchliner comedy clubs on Carnival cruises I would love any thoughts.

I think I mentioned before, but I have posted two new videos this month.  The first from 1-4-12 is some of the material I have done and worked up for a while now.  The second from 1-18-12 is a lot of new material.  Feel free to link to it, and even share it around Facebook, Twitter, blogs, and even MySpace if you are still there.

More info to come on my second booked paid gig for 2012!
