Make sure they spell your name right….

I hadn’t realized how long it has been since I have posted.  October is always such a busy month.  Begining with Bikes Blues and BBQ as September comes to an end, and my regular trip to Denver for a Dry Bones board meeting.  (Dry Bones works with homeless street youth, and because of my day job I sit on their board, you will begin seeing their shirts occasionally in some of my videos.)  Suddenly the entire month is GONE and I have no clue where it went.

It was a good month though.  I got a new Harley, and some time to put in the saddle.  I was able to do a couple of special shows both at my home club (Loony Bin Tulsa) and another local venue, the Eclipse.  I am far from hip or young enough to hang out at the Eclipse unless I’m there for the comedy.

Anyway, on to the point of this posting…  I got a call earlier this month from a writer for the Tulsa Business Journal who wants to do an interveiw with me.  Aparently it is unusual to have an attorney who works for the homless through a non-profit law firm to also be a comedian, potter, and musician.  The interview is scheduled for tomorrow, and I have to admit I am a bit nervous.  However, the thing I remember from any marketing class I ever took is that the most important thing about any interview is that you make sure they spell your name right.  It is unlikely anything else will matter to the reader, but if they are interested they need the correct spelling to look for you.

The second point of this posting is to mention that what I called my 1st paid gig (luncheon for a bunch of attorneys,) apparently went well as far as the daytime boss was concerned. They are scheduling another luncheon and specifically wanted to make sure it worked around my schedule so I could perform again.

Things are looking up for this Comedy thing…  p.s.  I have new video, but I need to review it before I post it.  I’ll let ya’ll know.
